Portage doesn't strike me as great place for live wrestling, unlike the Congress, the ring has to go on the stage.

I take it back. Saw a pic of the show on FB & the ring was on the floor & fans on the stage. Looked pretty full.

The Portage is now run by Eddie Carranza who ran the Congress.

There was a lot of bad press surrounding that theater regarding their security and it seems Eddie Carranza was at the center of most of it. However Eddie also had partners in running the theater so the blame can't be put all on his shoulders. Also keep in mind the sort of clientele that the Congress attracted, the Portage is in a different neighborhood and different people go to that theater so he might be able to make a go at it here.
