The ElitePro Office sent word to EliteProWrestling.com tonight that Corporal Robinson has had to pull out of his scheduled title match this weekend in Oak Forest against Vito Thomaselli. Filming of "Big Money Russlers" has taken longer than expected and he will be unable to attend. In an effort to find a suitable replacement, the ElitePro Office reached out to Mike Quackenbush. Not only will Quackenbush make his ElitePro debut this weekend, but one of his top students will also make his ElitePro debut when Tim Donst battles Vito Thomaselli on Saturday night. ElitePro officials stated that Donst has asked for a chance to earn a regular spot on the ElitePro roster. An impressive showing would go a long way in doing just that.

If you haven't checked out my pro wrestling column in today's (2/26) SouthtownStar, the article appears on Page 3 of Fifty-Two Weekends, the newspaper's Thursday entertainment magazine. The column features a photo of and comments from Chikara's "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush as well as comments from ElitePro producer Ben Jordan about the 2/28 show. You can check out the online version of the article at: www.southtownstar.com/entertainment/firstlook/virtusio/1447115,022609ProWrestling.article Also, my "Elaborating on Entertainment" blog features a topic titled "A conversation with Chikara's 'Lightning' Mike Quackenbush." He discusses the importance of training, whom he likes to see wrestle in the ring, music and much more. You can check out that article at: blogs.southtownstar.com/entertainment/2009/02/a-conversation-with-chikaras-l.htmlA few notes about using the "Leave a comment" feature on the blog: -- While there is a field asking you to provide your e-mail address, that e-mail address will not be shown to the public once your comment is posted. -- The grey Captcha box sometimes trips up people because it's hard to see and very particular about the characters being typed in exactly. To be on the safe side, you should copy your text elsewhere before hitting the Submit button in case the Captcha kicks out your comment. -- If you've used the "Leave a comment" feature correctly, you'll get a message saying that your submission is pending approval. Note: I approve all non-spam comments as soon as I see they have been submitted. If you're wondering where you can buy the print edition of the SouthtownStar, you can find retail locations at the below link, which includes spots in Alsip, Beecher, Blue Island, Bridgeview, Burbank, Burr Ridge, Calumet City, Calumet Park, Chicago Heights, Chicago Ridge, Country Club Hills, Crestwood, Crete, Darien, Dolton, Evergreen Park, Flossmoor, Frankfort, Glenwood, Harvey, Hazel Crest, Hickory Hills, Hinsdale, Homer Glen, Hometown, Homewood, Joliet, Justice, Lansing, Lemont, Lockport, Manhattan, Markham, Matteson, Midlothian, Mokena, Monee, New Lenox, Oak Forest, Oak Lawn, Olympia Fields, Orland Park, Palos Heights, Palos Hills, Palos Park, Park Forest, Peotone, Richton Park, Robbins, Romeoville, Shorewood, South Holland, Steger, Summit, Thornton, Tinley Park, University Park, Willow Springs and Worth. www.southtownstar.com/aboutus/1007978,061608paperboxes.article Other locations where you can find vending boxes can be found at the following link, which includes spots in some of the towns above as well as Crest Hill and Plainfield. www.southtownstar.com/aboutus/1008171,0616vendingboxes.article

Donst-Vito should be a lot of fun. Early last year Donst was pretty hit or miss but lately he's been on a roll. It won't be the same as Corp-Vito, but it should be a good time.

It was pretty well packed. I'd say 150-200 but I'm not goog at guessing numbers. The available chairs and bleachers were full.
Off the top of my head
Jon Moxley beat Acid, Dysfunction, Hades, Brandon Thomaselli, and Ninja Bill?
Team Taliban beat a rookie team
Kash Inc. beat Synn and Martin Jones
Osyris beat Sal Thomaselli
Vito Thomaselli beat Tim Donst
Prince Ali & Mike Quackenbush went to time limit draw
Soul Touchaz beat The Jensens
notes - Sound system was terrible. Couldn't hear music and couldn't understand mic work - I've seen Osyris before. He's a beast and he showed it near the end of his match. He should be put to WORK, he can go. It seems a waste to just have him plowing through people. - Soul Touchaz vs Jensens was definitely match of the night. I REALLY like the 2/3 falls stip when the champs lose, but someone had to explain it to me. That should be made clear somehow as to why it went the extra falls.

So you have a guy that is 400lbs and is impressive and you want to put him to work? Does that mean like arm wringers and such. He is a freaking MONSTER. He should be killing people because he can.

There was more than 200 people blaze. I would estimate around 275, max 300. Lets let Elite give out the official number.

From what I understand out of this, he squashed Sal. If so, that's perfect booking; he should've. He should've had to do not much more than a couple of moves; I even think if he does his moonsault or top rope splash more than once per big match, that's a bit much. Let it build, man. He kills a bunch of dudes and it's hooray's all around when he finally gets a heroic fan favorite to stand up to him.

From what I understand out of this, he squashed Sal. You be the judge. I'm sure there will be a thread on this, there's just been a lot on the Elite office's plate, I'm sure.

I know where you guys are coming from on your thoughts of what Osyris is doing and thats cool. I understand it serves the storied purpose I'm just talking personally, I don't dig squashes. They don't entertain me nor was the MATCH the focus of the fans I had in earshot. Almost literally EVERY bit of talk I heard during the match was focused on Osyris's less than pleasant physical appearance. There was little to no support or hope for Sal from the good sized crowd. He is a freaking MONSTER. He should be killing people because he can. No one should dispute this. I guess my gripe is really not so much about what Osyris was doing, but more about what Sal could have done. IMHO I think Osyris vs Sal could have been MUCH better and caught the attention of more people if there was at least a slightly larger amount of hope from what I've heard is one of your top performers in Sal Thomaselli.
